Cappella Choir 2010
December – Christmas Carol Concerts.
In 2010 Cappella presented concerts of traditional Christmas carols – and unveiled some new ones in our repetoire.
These included the Pearse Museum on December 12th concert at 3pm and the National Gallery Ireland for the Friends of the National Gallery. Sadly we had a couple of cancellations due to the suddne onsaught of winter – Loughlinstown Hospital Fundraiser Taking part in a concert 7pm on December and Castletown house December 5th from 2 pm-4pm.
November
The Wedding! Cappella provide the music on November 27th (private event).
October
Cappella Choir Joined a vsiting German Choir at the Pearse Museum Rathfarnham to sing together, and met again on to take part in an afternoon event in the Guinneas Store House. Acoustics in the Hop Store were excellent!
September
Culture night – the annual event and Cappella Choir sang in the Clore Gallery Restaurant to happy dinners – wonderful acoustics. The city and the gallery was hopping. And of course, the concert was free!
June
Cappella took part in the Holmstrand Kulture Festival in Norway on a Cultural Exchange Visit singing in a joint concert with the local choir ‘Swinglet’ . We wore ‘the green jersey’ by special request.

There was even a singalong with both choirs and the audience – in Norweigian.

The concert was held in a marqee on the boardwalk and was full to capacity.

Cappella sang in Tinahely Courthouse on May 23rd as part of the Bealtaine Festival. It was one of the first really hot days of the Summer, the Wicklow mountains looked spectacular on the drive down and it was decided to hold the concert outside.
The piano was dragged outdoors and retuned, a volunteer was found to stop music sheets blowing away, the platform for the choir was moved to the outside wall of the Courthouse. The audience sat in the shade and sipped wine.
The choir donned sunglasses and channelled their inner Fonzie.

Cappella Choir 2009
We took part in a very busy schedule in 2009 including several concerts In Ireland and abroad, singing at the wedding of one of our members, taking part in a competition and the traditional Christmas Cycle of carol concerts.
January
The Choir sang at a Wedding in Deansgrange – Romance in our midst!
We sang at Jury’s Hotel Dublin with a Norwegian choir visiting Ireland for Cultural Exchange. They sang traditional Norweigian songs to us, we sang Irish songs to them, and we sang a traditional Norweigian folksong together.
June
The Choir visited Niederstetten, Germany, on a cultural exchange and performed with them in the local community hall and in a church. The plan had been to sing outdoors in the courtyard of their Renaissance Schloss, but unfortunatly it rained like a monsoon and that plan had to be abandoned.

In the Autumn Cappella Choir took part in the Sligo Choral Competitions
December – Carol Concerts
Cappella sang at The Civic Theatre with Celtic Tenors – we were invited to sing by South County Dublin County Council, and sang on stage during this popular Christmas Concert.
We sang in Callory Church, Co Wicklow – up in the foothills of the mountains this classic little church was packed to the gills with local people who came to hear Cappella sing for them at their Carol Service.
We sang at Farmleigh House at the annual carol concert. This is held in the ballroom and is free to visitors – there are always a lot of children sitting at the front of the audience totally entranced; a family tradition in the making.
